Your Questions,
Answered

What genres do you write?

Comedies, thrillers, and romance, usually tackling difficult subjects that I feel we need to discuss more openly. No one knows my political affiliation, but readers often choose one for me, based on the side one character will choose in one book. I prefer to feature characters with diverse voices, loyalties, and beliefs, and sometimes that makes readers uncomfortable. But without the possibility of offense, there can be no honesty. Every book has involved extensive research to ensure authenticity and depth.

Something must’ve happened last summer in Palm Beach to make a teenaged Rabbit into a drunken shadow of his former self. He won’t talk about it, but there’s enough gossip going around. Whatever really happened, it left the kid an orphan at 18. The ghosts in the lonely mansion drove him out at night to find company, and he fell in with the wrong crowd—a crowd of thieves, hookers, druggies & killers, the best friends money can buy. And as if that wasn’t enough, he invited them all over for a house party. It’s the Darkside version of the Real World, a two-week whirlwind of danger, depravity and forbidden romance, and while his rapid descent into the seedy underworld is shocking, it isn’t nearly as horrifying as discovering his own family’s awful secret in this steamy prequel to the Heresy series.

You ever seen a ghost? A couple of years ago, Simone Brennan was strutting down the catwalks of Milan, Paris, and Tokyo. Wouldn’t know it to look at her now, swinging around the pole in Diabolique, g-string stuffed with ones. She’s still got a day job, though. You look close enough, you can see the sticky residue of the tape that held a microphone in her cleavage that afternoon. Hey, it’s a living. It’s no big deal when your only plan for the future is rolling on Friday night. Opportunity knocks though, when her dealer has a “public relations” position for her at the hot new club downtown—the one with a high-class drug den for a VIP section. As long as she can keep her nose clean, and her former employers off her back, and her hands off of the evil club owner/drug lord’s hot girlfriend, everything should be fine.
